Prolinx Pink Ladies raise £1,200 for Cancer Research UK

Congratulations to Chris, Jo, Emma and Claire, otherwise known as the ‘Prolinx Pink Ladies,’ who recently completed the Oxford 5k/10k Race for Life and have so far raised an impressive £1,200 for Cancer Research UK.

University Parks turned pink as over 2,000 ladies united in the fight against the disease, with fundraising totalling over £170,000 to help find a cure for cancer. Chris said: “I was honoured to be asked by Heart Radio’s Matt and Michelle to share my Cancer Story with all the people at the Race for Life in Oxford on Sunday 9th July. It was amazing seeing so many supportive people and emotionally how Cancer has affected so many Good people. Thanks to everyone who has donated.”

Reflecting on their achievements Claire said: “The Race for Life event went really well and was enjoyed by all. Considering the extreme heat Emma did a personal best running the 5k in 28 minutes, myself and Jo went round in 58 minutes, which included giving my four year old daughter a piggy back for about 2k! Chris came in only about a minute after us with her 10k race.”
