As we continue to expand and develop an exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to help support, develop and deliver our ambitious security strategy.

Prolinx are looking for a Head of Security Operations. This role will be responsible for the business wide Information & Cyber Security strategy, information security policies and execution as part of the overall business strategy. The role is responsible for creating, leading and shaping the Prolinx security roadmap, along with providing SME guidance on all areas of security and security compliance within the business. The role will also help shape our secure services we deliver into our customer base across defense and government.

The role will require extensive knowledge of security across information technology, security product sets and key security services such as running a SoC. They will also have a deep understanding of HMG and Defence strategies along with understanding high level policies and compliance in order to create a strategy that fits both customer and business requirements.

The main areas of focus for the role include, but are not limited to;

  • Create, develop and lead the security strategy, aligned to the overall business strategy for the business.
  • Key stakeholder in all Projects to provide steering and governance on security aspects and own the deliverables, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
  • Building trust, and developing long term relationships, with senior stakeholders including clients, accreditors, auditors and internal teams.
  • Leading the development and implementation of key cyber initiatives, coordinating closely with appropriate colleagues throughout the organization.
  • Providing advice and support on IT security matters to internal and external stakeholders, board members, users and other interested parties as required
  • Ensuring that suitable IT security commitments and management are reflected in IT service contracts
  • Providing a central point of contact on all IT security related issues, both internally and externally
  • Maintaining awareness and advising on any perceived changes in threats, identified security gaps, recent or ongoing infringements, and potential vulnerabilities that may impact the risks to the organization.
  • Manage a small team of security professionals covering areas such as Security Operations and Information Assurance. The ability to provide guidance and support to develop the team.
  • Maintain and publish up-to-date information security policies, standards and guidelines. Oversee the approval, training, and dissemination of security policies and practices.
  • Understand the security challenges of key clients and align roadmaps, and capabilities, to meet them.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs. At least four must be in a senior leadership role. Employment history must demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HMG and Defence security and compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to develop strong relationships within the business but also externally across our client base.
  • Professional security management certification, such as CISSP, CISM or CISA or other similar credentials.
  • Excellent ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exhibit the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment to achieve overall objectives.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Minimum clearance held will be SC, DV may be required according to work undertaken
