The Overview

The Prolinx Deployed Bearer of Opportunity (DBoO) is a validated capability in support of mission critical systems, complying with MoD connectivity doctrine and HMG security standards. The Low Weight Size and Power (SWaP) specifications ensures it is fully transportable as on-board cabin luggage, guaranteeing deployed personnel can provide connectivity on immediate arrival in Theatre through its plug and play configuration. With additional ancillaries of a broadband router and high gain antennae, the DBoO provides connectivity options including but not limited to MoD Sat Systems, locally provided Internet Service Provider or 3G/4G LTE. DBoO provides a resilient service that is able to meet the most challenging of operational requirements. A fully managed service, supported by the Prolinx ISO/IEC 20000 accredited 24/7/365 service desk. The DBoO ports are remotely configurable by our Technical Experts to satisfy the specific deployment requirements, with the ability to accommodate a compendium of differing systems such as Ground Support Systems – secure UADs and other connected services.

DBoO Features

A SWaP module that conforms to commercial airline on-board cabin dimensions. Within its transit case and associated peripherals it delivers at an impressive 10kg and measurements of Length Width Height; 520mm x 420mm x 250mm. Using secure connection technology and authentication certificates, a two stage Virtual Private Network (VPN) is established, a strict firewall rule set iaw the principles of the NCSC Foundation Profile sets up an IPSec VPN, the DBoO firewall is configured to connect only to the Prolinx Data Centre Public IP Address from its root VDOM. Authenticated devices are then permitted to access the MoD Core Network (MCN).

DBoO Version2 (DV2) Features

Meet ‘DV2’ with its lighter SWaP DBOO v2 capability it’s perfect for single users requiring local print or two individual local users. Our current DBOO device is designed to cope with up to 10+ users, however is suitable for small unit scale deployments requiring secure connectivity back onto the MOD Core Network (MCN). Along with a newer lightweight physical footprint, the new Prolinx DV2 device is designed to both connect to home routers directly via a LAN cable or optionally via wireless. In testing the client use case experience, a further option of connecting via 3G/4G hotspots is being considered for those who lack landline broadband bandwidth in their homes. The solution package comes with Prolinx UK service support features, providing up to 24×7 support when needed, along with the security accreditations to connect to the MCN at OFFICIAL SENSITIVE.
