Bisley Teenage Cancer Trust

David Carr (pictured right) took part in the Bisley Shoot for Teenage Cancer Trust:

David says “I believe I may have participated in this since the very first ever event, which was over 25 years ago! Dr Adrian Whiteson OBE organises and has been running the annual clay shoot since it began, and in doing so the event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for young people with cancer.”

“2023 was another successful year, building on the £123,000 raised in 2022, which will help to fund specialist support for young people going through treatment. It also helps with funding for Teenage Cancer Trust hospital units across the UK supporting young patients.”

We would like to say well done to David and team for participating and raising funds for such a worthy cause!

Some more information about Teenage Cancer Trust:

Why Support Teenage Cancer Trust

We create world class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.

Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through the toughest times they may have faced.

We’re the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need. By choosing to support Teenage Cancer Trust, you can help us to reach every young person facing cancer and make a huge difference.

Steve Dgr

Steve Andrews took part in the 2023 Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride.

Steven says “This was my first year taking part in DGR, and it seemed like a really fun way to raise awareness for two charities close to my heart. Through friends and family my life has been linked to both of the causes I was riding for, and what a better way to raise funds and awareness by creating a fun and rather unmissable spectacle of bikes thundering through various towns.”

“The weather was thankfully kind to us, and it was great to see so many residents and locals coming out, cheering, waving and supporting the event in the locations that we went through.”

Congratulations Steve for participating in such an event for great causes.

Riding dapper for a cause

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride unites classic and vintage styled motorcycle riders from all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney, Australia, by Mark Hawwa. It was inspired by a photo of TV Show Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting niche motorcycle enthusiasts and communities while raising funds to support the men in our lives.

Achievements since 2012

  • USD £30 Million Raised for Men’s Health
  • 340,000 Riders raising funds

Gary Styles (pictured centre) took part in the 2023 Tough Mudder 15k for Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund.

Gary says “As expected.. it was tough, muddy, wet and brutal, they foxed everybody with the course making it 18.9km instead of 15km, but we made it in 4 hrs 15 mins!”

“A massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored us to raise funds for The Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund – if I haven’t been able to thank you personally as we had a number of anonymous donations, thank you! Up to now, with Gift Aid we are up to nearly £4,000 – thank you 😊”

Well done Gary for raising funds and completing the tough course for a fantastic charity.

The Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Funds mission is to create amazing memories for children battling cancer.

Gary has been supporting the Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund for over 10-years, who support children suffering from cancer along with their families. They are a small charity whose mission is to create amazing memories for children battling cancer.

One of the many things the charity has done over the years to support children and their families is to create lasting memories through organising a yearly group trip to Disneyland Paris. Over the years working with the charity, Gary has raised funds to send families on the group trip to Disneyland Paris to create these lasting memories through an experience of a lifetime.
